Los Angeles, the City of Angels, has long represented glamor and dreams of fame and fortune for many. It attracts millions of tourists each year as well as those with hopes of catching their big break, and although its connections with the entertainment industry are a huge draw, it isn’t the only thing this cool city has to offer. You could spend several weeks in Los Angeles and find plenty of cool experiences and activities to enjoy, but for most people, vacations only last for a week or two. If you only have 7 days to explore LA, here are some tips to help you plan your time effectively and have the best possible time.
Start Saving for the Trip Early
A lot of cities can often be on the more expensive side, and while there are a lot of cheaper bars and restaurants in LA, others you might want to visit will come at a higher cost. This includes things like shopping, tours, and even budgeting for taxis and public transport if you won’t have a car with you. Everyone will have a different travel budget that they are comfortable with, but if you do want to enjoy your time in LA without having to worry about the money you should start to save your spending money as early as possible so that you can be more indulgent during your trip.
Choose the Top Three to Five Things You Want to Do
There are many fantastic options when it comes to finding things to do in Los Angeles, but if you do only have 7 days to spend in the city, then it is unlikely you will fit everything in. Before you go, select 3 to 5 of the top sights you want to see or activities you want to do and make these a priority. If you do want to go on some studio tours or something similar, it is smart to book in advance to avoid disappointment as these are popular with tourists and slots can fill up fast. If you do find that you have time to see and do other things then great, but at least this way you have managed to fit the most important sights to you into your trip and tick them off of your bucket list!
Prepare for the Warm Weather
If you are visiting from a country with a similar climate to California, then you’ll already be familiar with how to handle warmer temperatures during summer heatwaves. However, if this climate is not normal for you, do make sure that you are preparing for it. The heat will be more intense during the summer season, but even in Spring and Fall, it can still stay hot for those not used to this. The last thing you want on your trip is to get heatstroke or feel uncomfortable when you’re out exploring, so remember to bring sun hats, SPF protection, and bottles of water with you when you’re out. Try to spend some time indoors during the hotter times of day where possible, too.
If you are planning a brief stay in LA within the next year, use these tips to help you have the best time and get the most out of your trip.
