This show was shot in various Wilmington locations, including EUE/ Screen Gems Studios as the main set. Rangitoto
Rangitoto is one of Auckland’s iconic landmarks: an iconic symmetrical volcanic cone towering 260 meters over the city. As one of Hauraki Gulf’s 50 volcanic islands, Rangitoto offers spectacular views from its summit and should not be missed by locals or visitors alike. A short ferry ride away, visitors should bring good shoes as you will trek across jagged lava rocks en route. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your ferry wharf departure so they can inspect for invasive pests such as these invasive pests before entering Rangitoto.
As Rangitoto Island is pest free, any seeds on clothing or footwear could damage its unique ecosystem. Furthermore, water and snacks should be brought along since there are no shops except one small kiosk near the wharf.
Britomart Ferry Terminal at 99 Quay Street offers the fastest way to visit Rangitoto: taking the ferry. After 25 minutes onboard, you should arrive on Rangitoto in under an hour – be sure to pick up a map from Britomart before boarding, so that you have an idea of your route around this stunning island!
Once your short ferry ride has concluded, spend the remainder of your day exploring Rangitoto by walking its famous trails and trails. A popular track is Summit Track, which can be completed within an hour and provides breathtaking views over Auckland. For something a bit longer and more adventurous try Islington Bay to Rangitoto Wharf then Motutapu Island via the longer Coastal Trail from Islington Bay.
Rangitoto offers some fascinating activities for visitors, such as exploring its lava tubes. Lava tubes form when low-viscosity pahoehoe lava hardens on its surface while still flowing beneath. At Rangitoto, these tubes can be explored using a torch; photographers will find this an amazing opportunity to capture stunning shots of this spectacular volcanic landscape.
