You can also do hiking at the Inca trail from this place i.e., Cusco to Machu Picchu. The complete hike will take 5 days, but you can also begin closer and start a 3-day hike through the trail. It takes about three and a half hours to travel by train from Cusco.

All the visitors would require a permit before visiting the site.
