We help you plan your adventure trip with some simple tips.
Holidays and holiday goers are of two kinds: Those who want to book themselves into a resort and just kick back and relax, and the second, who plan a holiday that they’ll possibly need a second holiday from just to wind down.
The second type needs to plan their trip out a little better, in order to get the most bang for their buck. We’ve put down a few points to help them out:
1 What’s your adventure of choice?
Is it going to be something in the great outdoors or something that involves an all-encompassing adventure resort? If it is the latter, then chances are that you’ll have to plan this trip well in advance and have it locked in. Remember, every time you think you want to sample something new, or then repeat something that you’ve done, especially if in an adventure resort, there are always limited spots for grabs. There are others who may be angling for the same resort as you, so hurry up abd book!
2 What qualifies as an adventure resort?
Ideally, the most aptly named and amazing adventure resorts will land you in the middle of nowhere, yet they are fully self-contained and equipped to take advantage of all the activities that would be best suited to the surrounding terrain and landscape. There will be expert guides/instructors and support, and there will be all the right safety gear that makes for an activity-filled, exciting, yet safe trip.
3 Do your research!
Adventure holidays are best enjoyed if they are planned to some degree, if not entirely in advance. Each adventure resort is surrounded by a particular kind of terrain and geography that dictates the kind of activities you will be able to enjoy. For example, mountain resorts offer trekking, rock climbing, rappelling, and visits to water bodies if there are any close by. Similarly, you have forest resorts which have offer camping, rafting if there is a river close by, forest walks, nature trails and more.
4 How much time do you have in hand?
The length of your trip and all that you can fill it up with depends on how much time you have to spare as most often full-fledged adventure resorts are often slightly far away from city airports. Budget for travel time to and from the location, as well as time spent on location in activities, as opposed to constantly rushing all over the place and not really being able to fully take in the experience for what it truly is.
5 Your budget
Adventure resorts are priced all across the spectrum. Pick from something that is close by, to a city that lets you scrape the surface of various activities, or to the slightly more large scale adventure resorts that are by design, in the middle of nowhere, so as to give you the full reach and depth of the experience and plunge you fully into the set of activities that you sign up for.
